Job Description:
The Director of Works and Maintenance is the Chief Technical Officer of the University responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day running and maintenance of University buildings, equipment and other properties and for providing services and utilities for the well-being of the University.
The Person:
The Applicant for the post must exhibit considerable degree of competence, responsiveness, and demonstrable integrity for the running of a Directorate of Works and Maintenance of a University or ’similar organization. Prospective candidates must be proficient in ICT with demonstrable competence in computer – aided designs and controls.
Applicants must be in good health to be able to endure the rigours of the duties of a Director of Works and Maintenance Services. Such evidence must be tendered at the interview when convened.
Qualifications:
Candidates must have a good honours degree in Engineering and Master of Science in Project Management or any aspect of engineering relevant to the job plus at least 15 years of relevant experience at a level not below the rank of a Deputy Director of Works in a University or similar institution. Possession of a Ph.D will be an added advantage.
In addition, candidates must be registered member of Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN).
Conditions of Service:
The appointment is pensionable on such terms and conditions applicable in Nigerian Federal Universities and as may be determined by the Federal Government and the Governing Council from time to time.
