Associate Director Technical Documentation And Knowledge Management At FHI

Since 1971, Family Health international (FHI) has been at the forefront of public health research and intervention programs in the developing countries. In collaboration with national governments, local communities and leading research institutions, FHI delivers services and conducts research in HIV/AIDS, other infectious diseases and reproductive health to improve the lives and well-being of some of the world’s most vulnerable populations. In Nigeria, FHI is engaged in providing public health services and implementing programs in HIV/AIDS, TB, reproductive health, malaria, and health systems strengthening in partnership with the Government of Nigeria. To strengthen our operation in the country, we are seeking qualified candidates to fill the post of:

Associate Director Technical Documentation and Knowledge Management
Location: Country Office Abuja

The Associate Director Technical Documentation and Knowledge Management
will lead technical and programmatic documentation and facilitate lessons learning and dissemination on all FHI Nigeria public health interventions.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide technical leadership to the archiving and knowledge management unit
•Implement the documentation and knowledge management mandate and agenda of FHI Nigeria
•Liaise with stakeholders, relevant research institutions and government organizations and network with project partners and other agencies to strengthen the documentation and dissemination agenda
•Contribute to the development of documentation on core technical issues (HIV/AIDS, sexual and reproductive health, TB, malaria, cardiovascular diseases).
•Set up and coordinate a documentation and knowledge management committee
•Assist the technical and program departments in designing innovative HIV/AIDS, sexual and reproductive health, TB, malaria and cardiovascular diseases projects
•Develop the capacity of implementing agencies and NGOs in documentation and report writing
•Prepare high quality documents and reports in accordance to FHI and donor standards of documentation and report writing
•Prepare consistently high quality, timely, analytical and process reports/ documents/case studies/concept papers.
•Publish every year at least 3-5 innovations and best practices for wider dissemination
•Organize zonal and national workshops for the dissemination and learning of best practices
•Lead and participate in relevant learning networks
•Work with the M&E, program management and other technical departments in providing data and analysis to promote innovative interventions
•Regularly disseminate information through various in-house publications and regular contributions to relevant external media
•Monitor and address human capacity development needs of country office and field staff in documentation.
Minimum Requirements

•Candidate must possess MBBS or a postgraduate degree in public health family internal medicine
•At least 7years experience in health programs research; including HIV/AIDS and public health
•Excellent experience in developing training curriculums and good facilitating, communication and computer skills
•Familiarity with the Nigerian public sector health system NGOs and CBOs
•Experience in developing collaborative relationships and liaising with senior level government officials, community leaders, research/academic community and donors is highly desirable
•At least 5 research publications in peer reviewed journals will be an advantage.
